Port Security: TWIC
TWIC is mandatory in all port locations (as a flash pass) as of April 15, 2009. Implementation and compliance became effective in the Port of New York and New Jersey on March 23, 2009.
Enrollment is available at New York / New Jersey TWIC Enrollment Center, 580 Division Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07201-2033. Operational hours are Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Established under the MTSA, the Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) is a biometric identification card that will be issued to all personnel that require unescorted access to a secure/restricted area of a maritime port facility or vessel, after successfully passing a Security Threat Assessment (criminal history background check, terrorist watch list review and immigration status check).
